A waxing & grooming experience in a class all of its own
Here at SJ Male Waxing & Man Scaper Spa, it is not just about waxing or grooming, it’s all about skincare treatment. My unique approach to the art of waxing, grooming and soon body sugaring is in a class of its own. It is my goal to ensure you have a comfortable experience no matter what body part you are into getting hair-free.
What you can expect with each treatment.
Proper cleansing of the area, which includes the use of a SKINCARE Grade cleanser. Not just a spray or wipe down situation for so-called “skin cleansing”.
Next, is the use of Organic coconut oil blended perfectly with Tea Tree & Lavender, which not only protects your skin but it also helps in the prevention of outside bacteria from getting into your hair follicles.
After the bulk of the hair is removed a second cleaning takes place. This ensures that your skin is clean and germ-free.
Finally, a layering of salicylic based products is used to ensure your skin is protected.
Here it is all about Personalized Treatment not just a service.
Before Getting Waxed
Exfoliate with a Loofa, Body Brush, Exfoliation Glove, or any other Exfoliation device that you find exciting, at least 2 days before. Your hair (the area you want to be waxed) needs to be between 1/4 to 1/2 inch long, otherwise we will be just waxing skin (not fun).
During The Wax
Stay calm, yes it may hurt (at first, you big baby), but you will soon get the hang of it. You may redden and this is perfectly normal. I use a Calming Cream that will help to reduce this and if you ever suffer from irritation I have other solutions.
After The Wax
If you liked it KEEP UP WITH IT, it is more painful and difficult to re-wax when an extended amount of time has elapsed. The general rule is every 4-6 weeks.
Two days (48 hours) after the wax EXFOLIATE with your fave tool. Exfoliation helps reduce any in-grown hairs that may occur. If you end up with one call me and I can help to clear it up.
Use of Retinol, Vitamin A products, internal and external chemical exfoliators. You will need to stop the use of these at least 1-2 weeks prior to waxing any body part. In some cases, the extended use of topical and internal exfoliators may prevent you from being waxed. Be aware that the use of Male HRT (hormone replacement therapy) may cause skin reactions.
